  1. when I saw the first pictures I felt sick, and cried, coming so soon after the Christchurch disaster when my son and daughter in law were miraculously saved. we are so blessed to have Jesus our faithful shepherd on hand to protect us. But what is happening in this world ?….surely God is not happy with His church, which needs to change radically and repent from her lukewarmness and pride. prayer is the only aanswer. Monica.

  2. Monica,

I too was very sad to see these poor people suffer and I have prayed for them. Our Father is not responsible for the loss of life here – this is a natural disaster and we presently live in the Age (or dispensation) of Grace.

‘But what is happening in this world ?’

There is however a time coming when after the Man of Sin (some call the Anti-Christ) rises up and declaires himself as God when the original temple is re-built in Jerusalem (I understand that the building plans have already been drawn up). The world at this point will be in great turmoil both politically, military and economically. The Anti-Christ will rise up, solve these problems (the Word declaires that he is going to be wiser than even the Prophet Daniel!) and make all world religions illegal in order for so called one god (him and co) to be worshipped – this is called the Great Forsaking:

“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

    Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-5)

The words “falling away” in verse 3 are “ho apostasia” in the Greek and literally mean “the forsaking”. To understand this we need to go back to the first usage of these words in the Bible which are found in Acts 21:21. Paul was accused of teaching the Jews to forsake the Law.

“And they are informed of these, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.” (Acts 21:21)

The words to forsake in Acts 21:21 are the same Greek words (“ho apostasia”) as the “falling away” in 2 Thessalonians 2:3:“ho” means “the” and “apostasia” means “forsaking”. Before the coming of Jesus and our gathering to him, ‘the forsaking” must happen first.

What comes later is the Judgements from God (‘bowls of wrath’ seven of them) plus the two prophets who release judgements upon the earth at will. Christians will be around in that day and will not be affected by these Judgements unless they have fallen away (gone the way of the Anti-Christ – received his mark etc). The Judgements increase in intensity to try to bring mankind back to our Father. These Judgement will be much much more worse then the natural disasters we are presently witnessing in some areas of the world.

Lastly, I sincerely believe that God is not happy with his Church. The body of Christ has got to WAKE UP to events to the events of the future and do it now – our understanding of what is happening around us now and then later must be accurate. We can’t take just take a crash course when it all happens. I know of only a few believers in different churches who have accurately studied this part of the Word but we will get the message out.

God bless you in wonderful His love.

    James

  3. James……As creator of the Universse, God is in control of every aspect of it’s existence, which include the elements, so He is justified in using natural weather conditions to warn or chastsise His children, even if this means loss of life….I don’t beleive this disaster was just a random act of nature but a loving fatherly warning to His apostate and sleeping church. Over the years there have been many prophecies that God would shake the nations , and this has been happening in various ways over and over, each stronger than the last, (ie. the pen ultimate Christchurch earthquake with no fatalities was a mild warning which triggered the anger of God, when Evangelical Pastors appeared to rejected the warning, and even refused to allow a public service of thanksgiving for no loss of life!). Our Father is a faithful, loving , forgiving, and Covenant keeping God, but he is also a ‘terrible’ God, and the ‘fear of God’ is what the church now ceases to preach. God is so much bigger than we can ever imagine !!. Blessings from Monica.

  4. Hi Monica,

The dominion of the earth was first given to Adam and then was lost with the fall of man in the Garden of Eden to Satan. Today this world and its systems are temporarily owned and controlled by Satan and this is why Satan tried to tempt Jesus Christ by offering him all the Kingdoms of the World if he worshipped him. He could only do this because he owns them – he’s the god of this world. So God Almightly does not presently have ownership of this Earth but this is his will and at present God restricts Satan’s power according to his will. One day his son JC (the Lion of Judah) will return to reclaim the earth and ‘rule the nations with a rod of iron’. It also states in the Word that when a son or daughter of God dies that this saddens our Father – he’s not in business of killing his children – yes he does discipline them but only to get them back on track and only if their free will allows. There is a time and place in the future when the Judgements are rolled out for the Earth. These judgements are much much worse then any natural disasters that we have ever seen – they will be from God and they are spiritually driven and people will die. This does not happen until the man of perdition (the Anti-Christ) goes into the re-built temple in Jerusalem and declares and exalts himself as God. The purpose of the Judgments will be to bring unsaved man back to God and these Judgements that we read in Revelation are not for the Faithful in Christ (If you are Faithful in that day then your protected). All of this happens in a different age but this could happen in our lifetime – Father expects us to be watching! God has different ages for different things and purposes and we must understand this to rightly divide and understand his Word – if we don’t then we are in error. We presently live in the age of Grace where God has no designs to kill – man has a clear opportunity that if they confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised him from the dead then they shall be saved.

So yes, the Father has done (in the Old Testament days) and will (in the Future ages) take life but only according to the purpose of the age. I had a Christian guy ask me the other day that what happened in Japan and the fish washing up on a beach due to the tsunami was the signs of the End Times. No I said, when this happens one-third of the fish in the oceans will die not just a few thousand – Revelation 8:8-9.

Monica if your blessed – I will show you every reference to God’s Word for everything I’ve said here. If you think I’m in error with any part then please correct my understanding from the Word – and I sincerely mean that. I consider the Truth of our Father’s Word much more important then my own understanding and indeed my pride too. But it must be from His Word.

    Anyhow, Bless you Greatly,

    In His Love,

    James 🙂

  5. Thank you James, your reply has given me food for thought!…and yes, dominion was removed from Adam and given to Satan, but only dominion, NOT ownership (even Adam wasn’t given ownership1), I believe that what God creats He owns eternally, He is the God of the entire Universe,… and when Satan tried to tempt Jesus in Luke 4:5 he could only offer “all this power”, and in Matt 4:8 “all the kingdoms/realms” but not ownership of the earth nor it’s elements, so God is still in control.
As to God ‘not killing His children’, well,I guess His absolute authority has to be recognised “the Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away”, He grieves over the death of the unsaved, but glories to receive his elect. He marks our beginnings and endings in His calendar ! He knows what He is doing !!. I think we sometimes try to protect God’s reputation, not realising He is of a different order, and His ways are not our ways.
Yes, I agree we have to be ever watching, like the wise virgins, and surely we are now into the ‘time of sorrows’ and all these earth shattering disasters are warnings from a loving Father,to prepare for the soon coming King of Kings.
James…your Bible knowledge is probably far greater than mine…I was born into a church which discouraged the bible, and for 60 years I never owned one, let alone read it !!, but 28 years ago God graceously introduced me to His son Jesus, and now, all that I know comes from ‘the
word’ which dwells within me by His Holy Spirit.
yes, you have blessed me James, and I would like to have your chosen scriptures to study and pray about.
    With love in Him, Monica.
